Lae police are looking forward to maintaining law and order for the rest of the year after some great achievements by the metropolitan command recently.
Metropolitan commander Chief Superintendent Anthony Wagambie Jr said they were looking forward to another good year in the city. He thanked police officers for their efforts.
“Generally we did very well. We have improved policing methods in the city,” he said.
Under Wagambie, Lae police established response units, an emergency toll-free number with Digicel, a metropolitan command Facebook page and an Whatsapp account for the public to report crime incidents or suspicious activities in communities and settlements in the city.
Wagambie said successfully maintaining law and order in Lae was through the hard work of police officers.
