Community police on Manus Island will embark on an awareness drive next week in the four provincial high schools to remind students not to engage in unlawful activities.
Community policing officer in charge Sgt Margaret Kumasi said students were often prone to committing crime during their teens and usually did silly things, which they saw as minor without realising them to be criminal acts and the consequences.
Kumasi said the awareness was to warn students not to engage and get involved in any unlawful activities that may result in criminal prosecution and possible imprisonment.
