A MAN was found dead with multiple wounds on his body last Tuesday in Kivori Poe village near Bereina in Central province.
Bereina police station commmander Andrew Ofoi said the man went missing on Saturday after drinking with his in-laws in Hereparu village.
Mr Ofoi said the decomposed body was found partially-buried by a dog a few metres from where two women were collecting sand.
The women were suspicious after seeing the dog tearing at the decomposed body and raised the alarm with villagers.
In a related development, a house in Hereparu village was destroyed and threats have been made in retaliation to the murder.
Police have yet to make any arrest and appealed to the Kivori community to remain calm and not to take the law into their own hands.
The deceased, Akauma George, is survived by his wife and two children.
