MEMBERS of the police Mobile Squad 13 based in Lae will be to able communicate efficiently with their superiors and the headquarters in Port Moresby after receiving K25,000 funding from Lae MP and Minister for Community Development, Youth and Religion Loujaya Toni.
Mamose mobile group commander  Chris Kunyanban and some of his men last Friday met with Toni and information technology service provider Datec, where they bought seven laptops, seven printers, three external hard drives, seven flash drives, eight mouse and a fax-photocopier-printer and software with the money.It was a closed door shopping session at the Datec showroom as Toni looked on while Kunyanban and his men chose the items.
Toni said the help would empower them to contribute effectively to the development process in the city and the pro­vince.Kunyanban said they had experienced difficulties, especially in sending field reports back to the base as well as communicating with superiors as they were using fax machines, which were hard to find in rural districts.
