POLICE have praised members of a community in Madang who brought in a group of men they suspected of being involved in the killing of a teenager last Sunday.

Police said Mamaken Wakai, 16, from Andfuka village, Biwat, Angoram, East Sepik, and a cousin were returning to Wagol Pikus Street after visiting relatives when they were caught in the middle of a fight between two ethnic groups. They were attacked, resulting in Wakai’s death.

Provincial police commander, Sylvester Kalaut said relatives of the suspects took them to police for questioning.

The fight was between Sepiks living at the Biliau Maus Rot and another group of mixed ethnicity living at 26 Junction.
