I WOULD like to raise my concerns regarding the reinstatement of police officers.
It is frustrating to see the reinstatement of former police officers who had been terminated for:

  • Non-performance;
  • Breaching of discipline;
  • Lack of professional conduct; and
  • Inability to conduct awareness

These people cannot bring respect to the force and their appointment overlooked those who resigned on reasonable grounds.
The Police Force Act says that former police officers can be considered for re-employment if they had resigned honourably and not sacked.
The constabulary needs good officers who can give credit to the force and not those who give police a bad name.
