TWENTY-two police officers from Jiwaka and Chimbu attended a two-day workshop on activity planning and budgeting.
The workshop held in Minj, Jiwaka, was attended by sectional heads within the constabulary.
Two representatives from police headquarters Rigga Neggi, director corporate planning and Bob Kerry, officer in charge of welfare conducted the workshop.
Jiwaka provincial police commander Chief Supt Joseph Tondop said the workshop was to prepare sectional heads to learn the basic skills of activity planning which was linked to budgets.
He said this is what the commissioner wanted and every head within the department needed to have it in place.
Tondop said there was a corporate plan and this workshop would help officers to plan their activities according to the budget.
“We need to know how to break into the corporate plan which is in place and once we come to know it we will be able to come up with activity plans,” he said.
“This will make our operation work along with the budget and it is important in our personal lives as well.”
Tondop said that the workshop was very important because we have to know what we are doing and the budget required.
