Police officers urged to support new commissioner

POLICE officers have been urged to lend new Commissioner David Manning the support he needs to carry out his plans for the constabulary.
Police commander for the National Capital District and Central, Acting Assistant Commissioner Anthony Wagambie Jr, said they should accord Manning the same support previous commissioners had enjoyed.
“We must support (Manning) like we have done to previous commissioners of police. We must serve with loyalty to the office,” he said.
The constabulary in the recent past had three officers acting in the position of commissioner and two as deputies.
“This had caused uncertainty not only within the constabulary but in communities as well.
“There can only be one police commissioner and two deputies.”
