POLICE presence have been called off from Gerehu Stage three allotment 23, section 416 at Lucas Crescent recreational park by National Capital District/Central Commander Assit Comm of Police Anthony Wagambie Jr.
ACP Wagambie told The National that he had communicated with the Lands Department regarding the land after he was made aware of the protest over the issuance of the land title of the recreational area.
“The legality of land title to a recreational area was brought to light when the residents at Gerehu Stage 3B stood up in protest over how a land title could be issued to a recreational area,” he said.
“I was notified of this and later in the day and contact was made with Department of Lands secretary who indicated that it is questionable of how the title was issued.
“I immediately directed police not to give any assistance to the title holder but only to ensure that there is peace while enquiries are being made on the validity of the title.”
ACP Wagambie added: “I want to assure residents of Gerehu Stage 3B that police were not there to do anything against the community but only because of the request by the company as they had presented relevant documentation according to the title.
“There was a request from the purported title holder to police for presence as they had erected fencing.
“Police were also at the location to avert any confrontation between the parties.
“The purported title holder had made a formal request after presenting a National Court order which he had in his possession which ordered NCDC to issue certain approvals noted in the correspondence.”

  • Useless:
A recreational area is meant for community activities, sports, events that bring families together and etc.
How could someone so cunning and greedy attain a title for commercial purposes?
    That doesn’t make sense..!!
A recreation area can never be granted a title for businesses and etc, unless there is a crooked person on both sides of the dealings who wanted to gain (money) something out of it.
There must be a thorough investigation and take them (both parties) to court.
The businessman and the lands officer who issued the titled are both liable to the offense committed.
It is a crime by Nature to forged somebody’s signature to illegally obtain a legal document?????
