Police probe Sogeri rape

 CENTRAL police are investigating the alleged assault and rape of a 14-year -old girl at the Salvation Army camp at Vesulogo in Sogeri. 

The incident occurred between 8pm and 11pm on March 6. 

According to provincial police commander John Maru, the suspect had been arrested and detained at the 15-Mile police station. 

Police claimed the suspect, while under the influence of liquor, had entered the victim’s house, dragged her out,   assaulted and raped her. 

Meanwhile, Maru added that police had detained two male adults allegedly accused of murdering Scott Moale, 31, during a drunken brawl.

The two suspects are in police custody  It was alleged that the deceased had been drinking with his friends when a fight broke out late last month. 

Before the fight the deceased and a group of friends  went to confront the person they had had an argument with the night before.

This led to fight which resulted in the killing.
