POLICE are proceeding with their investigations into the storming of Parliament by a group of police and prison officers last November, says Police Commissioner Gari Baki.
He said arrests would be made based on the outcome of the investigation.
Baki said the constabulary had no plans to stop it as it was their duty to find out if the officers had committed any criminal offence.
“For us to shelve it under the table would be irresponsible and improper. We have to do what is expected of us,” Baki said.
“We will investigate the police and prison officers for not only storming parliament but other places too such as the Sir John Guise Stadium where some items were stolen or damaged.”
Speaker Job Pomat had wanted the police investigations shelved and the officers “forgiven”.
