SOUTHERN Highlands administration has donated five kitted vehicles costing K1.3 million to police in the province.
Provincial administrator Joseph Cazetan presented the vehicles to provincial police commander Chief Supt Martin Lakari yesterday in front of the Mendi police station.
Cazetan said the Southern Highlands government and administration wanted to work with police to maintain law and order in the province.
“Police need vehicles to move around and carry out their work effectively and we realise this and want to make them work more effectively and efficiently,” he said.
He said mobility was very important for police to carry out their duties.
He said that this was an on-going assistance provided by the province to the police.
Lakari thanked Cazetan and the provincial government for its continuous support.
