Police recruitment

What is going on with the NCD recruitment for the Royal PNG Constabulary?
It has been two years and some are still waiting for the process to be completed.
Then we suddenly read about the suspension of recruitment.
The RPNGC is nowhere near its modernisation goal to have more than 10,000 personnel by 2018.
This current batch of recruits that will pass out from Bomana Police College this month will take manpower up to 7000.
They are still short of 3000 and that’s a lot.
It is frustrating to hear from police officers saying lack of police personnel is a major reason for them not being able to maintain and enforce law and order throughout the country.
Blame it on recruitment.
