Police seek MP’s help to reopen case

Police want Madang MP Bryan Kramer’s assistance to continue their investigation into the killing of late Border Development Authority executive chairman Fred Konga, crime division acting assistant commissioner Hodges Ette says.
This follows a Facebook posting by Kramer this week.
“Although we have not yet received any instructions from the Commissioner Gari Baki to question Kramer, the information about late Konga’s killing that he had posted on Facebook, is needed to reopen the case,” Ette said.
“At the moment, the investigation has slowed down because we have received bits and bits of information into the killing of late Konga”.
Ette said Konga was gunned down in an assassination-type of killing in the early hours of Aug 24 last year along Waigani Drive.
“Since then we have not really conducted an investigation because of just tiny information that we can’t really build up a strong case to work on,” he said.
