SEVEN people charged with the burning down of a police station last month have been told to abide by their bail conditions set by the district court in Lae.
The seven were among those allegedly involved in the burning down of the new K1 million police station at Gagidu in Finschhafen, Morobe.
Magistrate Jeremiah Singomat warned the seven that they must observe the bail conditions and report to the police stations or court houses as required every Tuesday.
The accused are Enock Gese, 35, from Masanko,Dambi Alung, 32, from Godowa village, Erick Steven, 39, from Kwalamsom village, Kaisa Zurenuoc 51, from Settleback, Charlie Anonga 34, from Kolem village, Gilinde Narengkine 43, and Timias Zalang 25, from Siko village in Finchhafen district.
Singomat said they must obtain permission from the court if they had to move somewhere else to work or for other purposes.
The seven were each granted a bail of K800.
Their guarantors were told by the court to pay K400 each.
The matter will return to court on Sept 1 for hearing.
The court heard that the police station was torched in the early hours of Wednesday, July 19.
Police said the suspects were picked up because of what they were saying following the declaration of the new MP for Finschhafen.
Their lawyer told the court they would abide by the bail conditions.
