POLICE will take tougher action on people gambling on the streets of the capital city, according to National Capital District metropolitan commander Supt Andy Bawa.

He said people who gambled or played cards on the streets or public places were only inviting social problems and becoming lazy.

“Illegal activities such as smoking drugs, consuming alcohol or homebrew and selling betel nuts are mostly associated with gambling,” Bawa said.

“Police will take tough action on people playing cards on streets of the National Capital District.

“Those practices will get you nowhere and only invite more social problems.”
