Police suspect ‘inside job’ K12,000 armed robbery

MOROBE police believe the armed robbery of more than K12,000 in cash from Moale Holdings Ltd store outside Lae was an “inside job”.
Police claimed that an employee of the shop was allegedly involved.
Six suspects armed with guns arrived in a vehicle which drove into the gates of the company and entered the main office from the back.
They held up the manager, who surrendered the cash, before they fled in the vehicle.
The matter was reported to Zifasing police who gave chase but the suspects abandoned the vehicle before fleeing on foot.
Police said they knew the identity of two suspects.
The main suspect, alleged to be the insider, is in police custody.
In another police report, two suspects in the company of two others, discharged a home-made firearm at a home in at Biwat Compound in
Bulolo after stealing two boom boxes and a mobile phone valued at K350.
Both suspects are known to police.
Meantime, a female primary school student was allegedly raped at New Camp Settlement in Bulolo earlier last month after being tricked into taking a bush track behind the Bulolo district office.
The victim was at school and wanted to go home when she was tricked by another teenager who threatened her with bush a knife and alledgedly raped her.
Police are investigating the matter.
