THE policing the police task force team (PPTFT) has been reactivated under the Office of the Police Commissioner.
Police Minister William Onglo said contact numbers would be included so that complaints could be laid with the team and “all calls and complaints would be protected”.
“Details of the PPTFT, including contact details and office location, will be published soon in the media for members of the public to call, email, WhatsApp or email to register their complaints,” he said.
Police Commissioner David Manning said the team would have three months to clean up the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary, especially the National Capital District and would work under a terms of reference.
“The PPTFT will bring to life the ‘one strike and you are out’ policy for members of the constabulary,” he said.
“For far too long, criminals have been hiding within the force in police uniform.
“The PPTFT will flush them out and if warranted, prosecute and send them to jail.”
