Police to probe station incident

National

POLICE are going to investigate a post on social media showing a man allegedly drunk and harassing a woman at the Gordon police station on Sunday.
National Capital District-Central assistant police commissioner Anthony Wagambie Jnr said the matter would be investigated and appropriate action taken.
The post went viral on Facebook yesterday after a woman related her ordeal at the police station.
She was alleged to have been attacked in a shop at Gordon by a group of men who claimed that the taxi she came in had ran over the foot of one of them.
The woman alleged that she ran to the police station for help but was instead harassed by the man who she believed was a policeman, who took her money and smashed her phone.
She also alleged that she was sexually touched and verbally assaulted by the same man as other police officers watched.
Wagambie said the man was a dismissed police officer.

  • Please tell me if a Police Station is not a safe haven any more for citizens to take refuge and we will advise the complainants to take the law into their own hands.
