A WOMAN was chopped on her legs with a bush-knife following an argument with her husband in Kakandetta village, Northern, last Sunday, police say.
Police said the attack took place at 7am in the couple’s home.
Police said the victim was recovering at the Popondetta General Hospital.
Her husband was hiding.
“The identity of the suspect is known and we will arrest him,” provincial police commander Victor Isouve said.
He said as a result of bad weather and road conditions in the Higaturu local level government area, police attended to the incident late and transported the victim to hospital.
He said the details of the victim were being withheld as she was seeking medical treatment for the injuries she suffered.
He said Dianne Kageni, another woman from Kakandetta village in the same LLG, was slashed with a bush-knife by her husband after an argument.
That attack took place at Isoge village at around the same time.
The suspect in the second incident fled the village, police said.
Isouve said he had sent policemen into the Tufi and Musi areas after two cases of wilful murder were reported to his office last week.
