THE Peoples Action Party (PAP) has announced its relaunch and objectives during its fundraising dinner at Gateway Hotel in Port Moresby on Sunday night.
Founder and president of PAP Edward Diro told a packed ballroom that the party was coming back from over a decade’s inactivity with the purpose of doing what needed to be done for the betterment of the nation.
“Our objective is to make sure that the party is strong, our people are wealthy, and our people are justly governed, Diro said in his keynote speech.
“It is now time to get serious with the governance of this beautiful country.”
The main event of the fundraiser was a presentation by non- parliamentary deputy party leader Jonathan O’ata who briefed the gathering on the parties’ general policies and proposed reforms with an overview of the reasons behind the PAP re-launch.
“It’s a fact for 40 years our government system has made us the people who are always dependent and who are always struggling,” said O’ata.
“The PAP vision is to empower people, stimulate the economy, deliver equality and create opportunities.”
The fundraiser was also an occasion to introduce the PAP executives led by non-parliamentary leader Tony Aimo.
Also present at the PAP fundraiser was Deputy Speaker of Parliament and Member for South Fly,Western , Aide Ganasi.
