Politics ruining public service machinery

BULOLO Highway is Papua New Guinea’s economic lifeline.
I am once again questioning Prime Minister James Marape and his NEC on the whereabouts of the K66 million approved funds (from Australia) for the rehabilitation of Lae to Bulolo-Wau Highway which was reported as being withheld by the National Government and NEC due to some unknown reason.
The villagers, in particular Bulolo and Menyamya, have had enough of current political games being played by Pangu Pati leader and Prime Minister James Marape, his deputy Pangu leader and Morobe Governor Ginson Saonu and Bulolo MP Sam Basil.
Bulolo hosts both the Hidden Valley/Hamata and Wafi Golpu gold mine projects, Zeneg Chicken Farms and PNG Forest Products and more and we deserve the attention of the national, provincial and district governments.
In addition, many of our PMV operator’s small trade store operators and SMEs are now out of business due to the deteriorating state of that highway over the last 15 years.
All our cries have gone begging.
Why can’t Saonu and Marape sit down together and provide some answers as to when the Government will release the money and when work will begin to commence immediately before 2022 national general elections.
