Politics should’ve been left out of farewell

Letters

Moving closer into the festive season – Easter – a period in Christian faith to remember the most significant event to recall and reflect the crucifixion and death of the Messiah who brought forth grace and salvation to the lives of mankind. And now Papua New Guinea is to farewell its beloved one that is known and represented as wind of change to once a society accustomed to a primitive lifestyle to a challenge and competing culture we are today.
He hails to be grand chief, father of the nation, hero, author, pioneer and patriot – you name it, he deserves to claim these exaltation titles to his name for time spent in its dedication in the public services as a longest serving MP in history.
As citizen of this nation, we should take into close account that the ‘Sepik iron man’  Somare be continue to be a household name.
The government should not delay and deny by vesting its political greed and motives to suppress an excellent farewell.
