Treasurer Don Polye says human capital development is one of his main convictions to drive the nation forward.
He was speaking at the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Divine Word University and PNG Customs to establish a Customs academy.
“Plans are on track and the government is fully committed to see a PNG Customs Academy,” Polye said.
Polye said PNG must show professionalism in a humble way with determination and commitment as the country was experiencing positive economic growth in the oil, gas and mineral sectors.
“The proposed PNG Customs academy will boost the economic performance of PNG in the Asia Pacific region when officials perform to world standard with the aid of world class technology and maximum technical expertise,” Polye said. “The organisation will be responsible for making more money for the country.”
