Polye had his chance to be prime minister
The National, Wednesday May 14th, 2014
DURING the reign of the National Alliance-led coalition, Don Polye was approached by senior ministers and advised that they would back him for the prime minister post if he moved a motion to replace Sir Michael Somare.
However, Polye was two-minded and indecisive so the leader of the next largest coalition partner was Peter O’Neill.
Polye would have already been prime minister and may still be today if he had taken the opportunity that was presented.
He played second fiddle to the Somare and continues to play second fiddle to the current prime minister.
We could safely assume that Polye lacks decisiveness in leadership.
Polye cannot be in the government because they kicked him out. As the government of the day, they have the prerogative to do so.
Make up your mind and move to the opposition bench.
You continue to make yourself look silly by trying your best to be in government and yet continue to criticise their policies and initiatives.
