I would like to commend ousted MP Don Polye for showing a vibrant and outstanding leadership within the NA party caucus and at the national level.
Mr Polye has played a major role in the development of PNG during his tenure as minister and MP.
I believe he will retain his seat in the by-election.
The people of Kandep are proud that one of their sons is a senior minister in the Government and a former deputy prime minister.
Mr Polye’s critics and political rivals have been working hard to discredit him and now that they have achieved their goal, let’s see how they perform in the coming by-election.
If these people fail to win the by-election, I suggest they shut up, swallow their pride and humble themselves to work with Mr Polye.
I would also like to congratulate James Marape, Minister for Education and Tari-Pori MP for being elected as the interim Highlands NA party leader.
He is one of the smartest ministers and has done a lot in the last six months since being appointed as Education Minister.
