THE current trend of netball outfits has been an issue following complaints from some members of the public regarding the length of uniforms.

Port Moresby Netball Association (POMNA) interim president Evanelia Kini said over the weekend that though there was no standard rule for outfits in the competition, the issue would be stressed at their next annual general meeting later this year.

“There is no standard policy for the type of outfit players should wear. It is the responsibility of individual clubs to look at. But it is definitely an issue the executives will have to deal with since it is now having an impact on the community,” Kini said.

Adding on to what Kini said, former netball representative and long-serving basketball and netball coach Veitu Diro said that this was the responsibility of the clubs to ensure they get the right sizes that will fit the players.

“Back in our days we use to wear shorts and two-piece outfits. Now the trend has changed. Other countries are now wearing the one-piece dresses to suit the game. I guess teams just need to order right sizes of uniforms to suit the players so it is decent,” Diro said.
