THE Port Moresby Rugby Football League (POMRFL) will hold its annual general meeting on Feb 27 with representatives of all 14 clubs expected to attend, according to an official.
POMRFL administrator Meke Maino told The National last Friday that the meeting would be held at the Oil Search National Football Stadium.
He said the clubs were required to pay their affiliation fee of K1,000 each before they could attend the meeting.
Maino said the meeting would see the presentation of club financial reports and a summary of the league administration’s overall operations.
“Every club is expected to present its financial report during the meeting,” he said.
“League administrators, led by chairman Dr James Naipao, will present the operational report of the 2020 Covid-19 season.
“The audited financial report will also be presented to the Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League (PNGRFL) and our major sponsor South Pacific Brewery.
“A presentation will also be done on the footballing aspect of the league.
“Basically, it will cover the 2020 season.
“We expect all clubs to attend the meeting which will start at 8am.”
Maino said POMRFL’s partners, including PNGRFL and the brewery, would be acknowledged during the meeting.
Meanwhile, he said POMRFL was working “around the clock” to plan its 2021 calendar.
Maino said they would liaise with PNGRFL to make sure that their events were consistent with those of the sport’s national governing body.
