PORT Moresby Suburban Sports Association is calling on club presidents taking part in the Suburban rugby league competition to attend the annual general meeting at the Aku Lodge in Boroko, today.
Association president Billy Aki said the meeting would start at 5pm and urged all presidents to submit their financial reports which would be deliberated on at the meeting.
Since it is the first meeting for the association, he is urging everyone to attend because there would be some issues or problems raised that needed to be ironed out.
He would like to see the 16 club presidents at the meeting. However, he also warned that those who failed to attend would be reprimanded by the association executives.
The association will also clarify its position on whether to include soccer (men and women), basketball (men and women) and rugby league (women) under its umbrella in the long term.
Aki said he had been receiving overwhelming support and interest from teams as far as Koiari, Morata, June Valley, Kilakila, 8-Mile and 9-Mile to participate in these three new sports.
He has also called on other suburbs to register their interest and contact him to pay their K200.
The season proper competition starts next month.
