Pomio leaders cry foul over

Islands, Normal

A GROUP of leaders from the East and West Pomio local level governments in East New Britain has questioned the occupancy of Tol Plantation by local company, Tol Port Services Ltd.
In a press statement, the leaders’ spokesman and former ENB governor Francis Koimanrea asked why the title of the Tol plantation land had been issued to an Engelbert Schmidt.
Koimanrea said according to legal documents, the planation had been the property of an Allan Henry Reynolds.
He added that the title was to be issued to a Freddy Chan as the successor.
Koimanrea and LLG representatives from East and West Pomio, Mathew Kolge, Elizabeth Tongne, Bernard Tovatnge, Bernard Lolot, Pr Thomas Yakenta Fr Barth Advent and Peter Bonoven from the Sinivit LLG urged Governor Leo Dion to look into the matter.
The group urged Dion to publicly explain to the people of Pomio how the provincial lands division had processed the land application documents that changed the legal title ownership from Reynolds’ and his successor to that of Schmidt and eventually Tol Port Services Ltd.
