THE Port Moresby Rugby Football League (POMRFL) will run its washout matches this week with matches from Friday and October to be played before the competition heads into its final round of the regular season.
League administrator Meke Maino told The National yesterday that matches from Friday were unable to go ahead and were rescheduled to tomorrow and Thursday.
“We were not able to move forward with matches on Friday because we had to make sure that our game day protocols were set,” he said.
“The matches between Butterflies and Hanuabada Hawkes (A-grade) have been rescheduled to Wednesday and we’re encouraging teams to be ready for their matches.
“There’s also a match uncontested match between the Hohola Flies and Paga Panthers from week two of the second round in September, so we’ve also noted that in our A-grade ladder.
“It’s a tight schedule that we will be running on, but we’re positive that we can get our regular season done before we have our top-eight teams for the finals.”
Maino stressed the importance of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) protocols for teams to follow on game day with the league tightening up on the measures.
“Teams must be ready to submit their list of players and officials, and only those names listed will be allowed entry,” he said.
“Another important note now is that trainers and coaches must wear their face masks when entering the venues.”
