POMSoX shares gain slightly

 POMSoX trade yesterday was positive after it returned from an extended Independence Day weekend, amid a modest trading session. 

The main index, the KSi, added 0.30 points (0.01%) to close high at 3,869.59 points. 

Meanwhile, the home index, the KSHi completed at 8,289.95 points, up 5.33 points or 0.06%.

There was single gain on POMSoX with no loss.

The performer yesterday was Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) which finished at K8.05, up 1 toea.  

However, the stock traded a low volume of 484 shares valued at K3,896.20.

Oil Search Ltd ended the day unchanged as the Oil and gas company remained at K15.10 even, Highlands Pacific Ltd (HIG) and Marengo Mining Ltd (MMC) followed as both miners closed flat at 21 toea. 

NGIP Agmark Ltd (NGP) also recorded a trade yesteday at 85 toea unchanged.

Tuesday’s session recorded a combined volume of 146,916 shares valued at K40, 767. 64.

In the US stocks advanced overnight with the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising 118.72 points or 0.77% closing at 15,494.80 points after former Treasury Secretary Lawrence Summers withdrew as a candidate for Federal Reserve chairman. 

Emerging – market currencies weakened while Asian stocks declined before the US Federal Reserve’s policy meeting. 

The Japanese Nikkei dropped 86.77 points (-0.37%) ending at 14,345.30 points. Australia’s central bank says it will retain the option of cutting the interest rate and allow a drop in the currency to aid the economy as the resource investment slows.
