Poor education and bad teachers

Letters

THE national Government’s attempt to improve education by introducing a standard-based curriculum will not solve the problem.
The problem is not in the curriculum. It is in the elementary school teachers.
The government is retaining them in the new curriculum.
That means the problem is not corrected. It’s still there.
About 85 per cent or 90 per cent of the teachers don’t speak English.
How can they teach what they don’t know?
The elementary teachers will continue to produce students like themselves.
Remove the elementary teachers and save the nation.
