POPE Francis introduced monuments of people who have migrated in various cultures during the World Migrant and Refugee Day in Vatican City last month.
The sculptures, entitled “Angel Unawares”, were created by Canadian artist Timothy Schmalz which was suggested by Fr Michael Czerny undersecretary of the migrants section and refugees from the Vatican’s integral human development service department.
Pope Francis explained why he wanted the sculptures in the middle of the square, the centre of Christianity.
