FORMER Rabaul Gurias forward Rodney Pora says club founder and chairman late John Nightingale has set a standard of how to run a franchise in semi-professional rugby league in Papua New Guinea.
Pora, who played for nine seasons (2005-2014) with the Gurias, told The National this week that he was saddened by the passing of Nightingale.
He said Nightingale was like a father to him and all the men who had played for the Gurias.
“He always took care of our needs,” said Pora, who won two titles with the Gurias.
