Porebada receives K1m grant

 POREBADA people in Central put to good use a K1 million grant from Treasury Minister Patrick Pruaitch.

The Aitape-Lumi MP, who is also the National Alliance Party leader, gave the money for  development projects to improve their life.

Ward 1 Porebada-Kouderika councillor Tasman Taumaku thanked Pruaitch for recognising them through the leadership of National Alliance Deputy Party leader for Southern Region Peter Isoaimo.

Isoaimo, is the Kairuku-Hiri MP. Porebada is in the Hiri West local level government.

When commissioning project equipment and chequeslast week, Isoaimo said: “I’m taking care of one of the huge electorates in the country.

“Funding has always been an issue in my attempt to deliver equally and fairly for my people.

“Today, we are very privileged to receive such a huge gift from the party that will solve many problems for our people at Porebada. 

“We look forward to maintaining this strong friendship between the people of Kairuku-Hiri and Aitape-Lumi.”

Isoaimo commissioned eight dinghies and outboard motors, two community trucks, a water truck, tanks and presented several cheques to schools, churches, sports groups, women’s groups and youth groups.Taumaku said they also hada budget allocation for law and order and community cleanup programmes. 

“We will send the acquittals back on how we spent the money,” Taumaku said.
