Porgera should stop fighting

PORGERA people should be industrious and venture into businesses and enjoy a good standard of living instead of fighting among themselves.
As if as you have not seen any major development and big scale benefits as landowner, generated by the mining giant at your doorsteps.
At the end of the tribal fights, nobody wins.
Casualties and property destruction on both sides only ending up in deplorable situations.
Rest of the people in Papua New Guinea are aware that your district, which is known for development in comparisons to other Engan districts and localities has been blessed with valuable resources and indeed the country is depending on Porgera Gold Mine in monetary terms.
This is your time to organise yourselves within Porgera or in other parts of PNG in doing businesses and not the opposite.
Split in the electorate has been seen as another achievement in terms of representations at the national in Parliament to deliver services effectively.
Tomorrow nominations opens and rest of the country is preoccupied with election matters.
People of Porgera should also participate meaningfully.
Country’s election schedules must be respected by everyone including people of Porgera.
Peace is paramount at this point of time.
The local leaders, security forces and officials of Enga should intercede to bring the conflict to an end so our children, mothers, old and young men and women have the safety and freedom to participate in the general election.
