Poroman too strong for Sunam boys

LAE Hockey Association men’s division round one matches ended last Sunday with Poroman beating Sunam 2-1.

Sunam, leading the completion on 16 points, could not hold off the fired up Poroman outfit who were on second spot of the points ladder .

Poroman’s Rex Loth slotted a goal in the 8th minute of the first half which they defended until halftime.

 With overwhelming support from their supporters, Poroman opened the scorebook in the second minute of the second half with a goal from Keith Raoma extend the lead to 2-0.

But the determination of Sunam players to stay in contention in the game was rewarded in a goal in the 57th minute when Kapai Kanawi scored.

Other results for the men’s division Unitech beat Poro Buddies 3-2.

In the women’s division, competition leaders Iruba humbled Poromeri 4-2 with goals from the Hebei siblings Elizabeth (17th, 25th) and Elaine (66th, 68th) while Vanessa Perry was the only contributor scoring two goals  at the 9th and 42nd minute for Poromeri.
