PORT Moresby Grammar School are making their mark in the Port Moresby corporate touch football competition after narrowly defeating Bishop Brothers 3-2 in the open men’s division in pool B.
An elated principal Mele Olley said the concept of the game was very encouraging particularly for her teaching staff.
“Our job is demanding and this is part of our internal staff building after a hard day’s work.
“Our staff work hard and we loosen up when we take part in this competition. This is also part of the extension of what we do in school during our sports day,” Olley said.
She said taking part in the competition had also build good working relations among the staff and was good way of keeping them healthy.
In other men’s pool B results; Lakowalai beat PNG Power 3-1, Hornets held Pangtel Crusaders 5-5, while National Fisheries Authority continued their top form by defeating PNG Sustainable 6-2 and SPAC and Nasfund fought out a 3-3 draw.
In pool A, PNG Media gave Niuford Waterboard a good run before going down 3-2.
However, it was a sweet victory Bank South Pacific when they caned NCD Professionals 5-2 and Post PNG outclassed Trukai Industries 4-3.
