THE Port Moresby Soccer Association (PMSA) has received the land title for the Bisini Soccer Ground after it met due processes under the Lands Act, according to president Joseph Ealedona.
He told The National on Monday that this paved way for PMSA to work with the Papua New Guinea Sports Foundation and PNG Football Association (PNGFA) to refurbish the facilities at Bisini.
Thanking clubs for the patience and understanding, Ealedona said acquiring the title was important to PMSA.
“We are happy to finally receive the owner’s copy as it was our top priority to get this in order to begin our efforts to refurbish Bisini,” he said.
“For now, we will continue to work closely with the foundation and PNGFA as important stakeholders (to upgrade the facilities at Bisini Soccer Ground).”
Meanwhile, Ealedona said they were looking into the ownership of the land on which Sir John Guise Stadium was built.
“We are now investigating our ownership of the Waigani land where the stadium is located,” he said.
“We had the title but the land was taken away from PMSA for the (2015) Pacific Games.
“We were not compensated as per the requirements of the law.
“So when we confirm things, we will pursue compensation.”
