THE Port Moresby Soccer Association select side for the women’s National Soccer League started training at the Bisini Soccer Ground on Monday.
According to coach Clement Cafu Anisan, all footballers are from last year’s Besta Cup with a few development players.
In the meantime, Anisan is not sure about when the NSL women’s competition will start, however, decided to have the women train to dust off some cobwebs after the festive season.
“The dates for the NSL women’s competition haven’t been confirmed yet but we are starting our training as early as possible,” Anisan said.
“We want our female side to train with our men who will be competing in the NSL as Port Moresby United FC.
“We are yet to set a training programme for the women.
“Right now, we are planning their training programme.
“I prefer preparing a team five or six weeks’ prior to the start of any competition.
“It also gives us ample time to analyse the players’ fitness levels and decide on what approach to take.”
