CAN PNG Ports tell our people of Tatana and Baruni on the Motukea wharf and our Lae people on the Lae wharf which stevedoring companies have been awarded contracts to operate these facilities? The last we heard was the paid adverts by TADA and Riback against the stance by PNG Ports. Please advise what has transpired since then. Can the impacted people be allowed to venture into stevedoring with the already established shipping companies? When are the impacted people going to realise spin off benefits? There needs to be an awareness on the rights of our people so that we move with the same speed in development rather than be overshadowed and marginalised in our own backyard and be fed peanuts to nothing.
