Post PNG opens new post office

THE business boom in Morobe province has enabled the Post PNG Lae branch to expand its operations in the city to serve the growing demand.
The logistics operations division will open a new post office and a logistics centre at the Air Corps Road along the main market, providing logistics, postal and financial services.
Logistics will include Customs services, road and sea freight, domestic and international freight including door-to-door express courier services and prepaid satchels.
Included in postal services are stamps and all standard postal services, private letter boxes, domestic and international parcels, and registered mail. 
Two financial services are Salim Moni Kwik (SMK) and Post Pay, while all freight, courier and parcel services have domestic and international tracking facility.
“The new facility will be more convenient and positioned at the heart of the industrial area; and to this end, the management provides an option for clients to transfer their private boxes at the general post office to the new location,” Post PNG managing director Peter Maiden said .
He said that acceptance of the offer will include retaining the existing box number and redirection of mail and parcels from Lae post office at no cost for six months.
