Potbelly stoves for final project
The National, Monday March 31st, 2014
NINE metal fabrication students from Australian Pacific Technical College presented their final assessment project on a potbelly stove last Friday.
The final project assessment is carried out by graduating students.
This year, students were assigned to design a potbelly stove over three weeks as their final project.
Trainer Len Farren said: “I was judging the students’ final products based on the product’s functionality, tidiness and individual talent.”
He said fabricating the potbelly stove promoted their skill, which was revealed in their work.
Prizes for the best product was awarded to Aaron Mark, a New Britain Palm Oil employee.
He said they were studying for level three certificates with programmes accredited through the Australian Qualification Framework.
