Power cuts to continue

 LOAD-shedding of electricity supply in Port Moresby will continue for an indefinite period following the breakdown of a turbine generator at the Kanudi station last Friday. 

PNG Power acting chief executive  John Tangit said technical staff was working hard to rectify the problem. 

“It is anticipated that the problem will be fixed within this week so that normal supply could be restored to the city residents,” he said.

Tangit said Kanudi supplied 10 megawatts of electricity to the city. 

PNG Power is asking business houses in Port Moresby to utilise their generators.

A schedule has beee published to inform consumers about load-shedding in their suburbs.
