Power outage damages goods

Letters

IN the past couple of weeks, perhaps months, we have experienced intermittent power outages in the city.
Often times, without exaggeration, the power will come and go up to five times in less than an hour.
I understand that PNG Power may be encountering some challenges in power distribution, but can they not cut the power continuously for an hour or more?
Some of our equipment and appliances have been damaged because of these erratic power outages.
And replacing them means additional expenses for us.
It is common knowledge that it is not good to put appliances such as freezers, refrigerators, air conditioning units etc, on and off sporadically.
I appeal to PNG Power to please be considerate of the consumers and address this issue.
Thank you PNG Power.
I wish I could say “more power to you” so that there would be no power outages.
