Power outage too long

Letters

IT has been almost 14 weeks since the PNG Power outage in Pabrabuk station, Tambul Nebilyer, Western Highlands.
The total blackout from mid-February to present is becoming an enormous obstacle hindering the delivery of quality basic services to the people.
Pabrabuk station is home to one of the leading church in the country that is PNG Bible Church.
The station plays a major role in building the future of Western Highlands and PNG as a whole in terms of education, health and Christianity. There were many attempts by the secondary school and the mission agency but were all unsuccessful.
All we got from the electricians were some kind of technical fault with the step-down transformer that cannot be fixed.
That issue is now beyond our capability.
We are now calling on MP Win Bakry Daki and his administration to solve this problem with the PNG Power management.
Imagine a nurse sterilising and stitching an eight centimeter wound in the middle of the night using mobile phone torch.
This is the kind of daily struggle confronted by hard working service deliverers in the station.
Together we can bring the future of our district and province to a whole new dimension.
