PNG Power workers will not go on strike after the management and staff reached a resolution on Monday, acting chief executive John Tangit said yesterday.

He said the public utility’s workforce had planned a nationwide strike to protest against the government’s plans to restructure the organisation without any awareness and consultation with them.

“The matter was addressed quite clearly on Monday. PNG Power management will not tolerate any walk off. It’s a bad signal for major investors, Tangit said.

Meanwhile, PNG Power yesterday launched its new logo and corporate uniforms to commemorate its 50th year of providing electrical services to the country.
