Powi hailed for good work

Letters

I WISH to commend the leadership of Southern Highlands government for slowly bringing the once volatile province under control.
The provincial government, over the last year or so, had reformed its development agenda focusing more in agriculture and education, which are catalyst for change.
The province, which was once a pride of the upper highlands has been riddled with tribal fights, corruption and law and order issues which adversely affected service delivery.
It has slowly but prudently improved its overall service delivery.
This has directly impacted the population in a positive ways.
The SHP administration needs to be commended by the people of Southern Highlands and others.
In comparison to 1997 national general election and ensuing years under two earlier leadership, the province had not allegedly achieved much until now.
It is only after the leadership of Governor William Powi, despite few ups and downs from the 2017 national elections results, has put the province on the right development foot.
Law and order has improved generally and services have been restored and with recent passing off its half a billion provincial budget.
Southern Highlands is surely to thrive and prosper.
Well done Governor Powi.
