SOUTHERN Highlands governor William Powi and new Nipa-Kutubu MP Jeffery Komal are prepared to work together for the benefit of the people.
They thanked the people of Southern Highlands and Nipa-Kutubu for their trust and confidence in their leadership to bring changes to the province.
In a joint statement, they said they were prepared to work together with other candidates who had the same purpose to serve the people.
Powi said he collected votes from all corners of the province which showed that he had a clear mandate from the people to lead them.
“I’m prepared to work together with the other candidates to deliver services to the people,” Powi said.
“Thank God for my win and thanks to my people of Southern Highlands.
“My win is a win for the people.”
He said his first task was to take stock of existing infrastructure and follow up on the reconstruction and rehabilitation of infrastructure.
Komal said on his arrival in Alotau that the people wanted changes and he invited candidates and their supporters to come to his office so that they could develop the district.
“I’m inviting the 15 candidates to work together to serve the people.”
